MANILA – Umabot na sa higit PHP2 milyon ang halaga ng ayudang naipamahagi ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) sa mga pamilyang nasalanta ng habagat at ng magkakasunod na bagyong Mirasol at Nando.
Ayon kay Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao ng DSWD Disaster Response Management Group, kabilang sa mga naipamahaging tulong ang 3,872 family food packs at iba pang non-food items gaya ng family, kitchen, at sleeping kits, pati na mga laminated sacks.
“These relief items have already reached our disaster-hit countrymen in the provinces of Quirino, Nueva Ecija, Camarines Sur, Capiz, and Iloilo, whose local government units (LGUs) have coordinated with us for additional supplies to support their local response operations,” pahayag ni Dumlao.
Batay sa ulat ng DSWD Disaster Response Operations Information Communication dakong alas-6 ng umaga nitong Lunes, umabot sa 31,626 pamilya o katumbas ng 113,094 katao mula sa 297 barangay sa Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, at Cordillera Administrative Region ang naapektuhan ng kombinadong epekto ng habagat at mga bagyo.
Samantala, tiniyak ni DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian na handa na rin ang pamahalaan sa posibleng epekto ng bagyong Nando, lalo na sa Batanes.
“Just got off the phone with Governor Ronald Aguto of Batanes. I assured him that, following the President’s directive, 22,000 family food packs have been pre-positioned in various warehouses in Batanes, ready for deployment at any time. We prepared these months ago as part of our Buong Bansa Handa Program,” ani Gatchalian sa isang Facebook post.
Sa ilalim ng Buong Bansa Handa Program, tiniyak ng DSWD na may nakahandang suplay sa halos 1,000 bodega sa buong bansa bago pa man tumama ang anumang kalamidad.
Kasalukuyan din itong may standby funds na PHP1.5 bilyon, bukod pa sa mga stockpile ng pagkain at non-food items. Handa ring gamitin ng ahensya ang kanilang disaster response equipment gaya ng mobile command center, mobile kitchen, mobile water units, at water tanker upang mas mabilis na makapagbigay ng serbisyo sa mga apektadong lugar..
